What is Swara AI?
Swara is the name of Outpero's voice engine, the part of the product that listens to the caller and speaks back on a phone call. It is built for Indian languages and handles Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and Indian English, including mid-sentence switches to English. Replies arrive in 0.8 to 1.3 seconds on average, and it is part of Outpero rather than sold separately.
What Swara is
Swara is the voice layer of Outpero's AI employee. When an Outpero agent calls a lead, Swara is what hears the person, works out when they have finished speaking, and answers in a natural voice. The word swara means voice, sound or a musical note in several Indian languages, which is why it was chosen.
It is not a separate app or a standalone company's product. On Outpero's site it is part of the same self-serve product at app.outpero.com, priced as connected minutes on the Standard or Premium voice.
What it is built to handle
- —Regional languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and Indian English
- —Code-switching: Hinglish, Tenglish, Tanglish, Kanglish, Manglish and Marathi-English, with the same voice carrying on when the caller changes language
- —Turn-taking: replying in 0.8 to 1.3 seconds on average from the moment the caller stops, so the pause does not feel robotic
- —Two voice tiers: Standard at ₹5 a minute, with expressive voices for everyday sales and support, and Premium at ₹6.8 for the most lifelike voices
Honest limits
Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu and Assamese are not live languages, and Outpero does not claim per-dialect training. A caller with a strong regional accent or a noisy line can still be misheard, and a good script with a clear fallback line matters more than any voice setting.
Several other products and companies use the name Swara. If a search brought you here for a different one, check the publisher before assuming they are the same thing; this page describes only the voice engine inside Outpero.
How to hear it
The quickest way is to sign up, which gives 50 free credits with no card, and have an employee call your own phone in the language you care about. Listen for the pause after you finish a sentence, and for how it handles you mixing English into Telugu or Hindi.
Outpero publishes this page and Swara is its own product, so this is a description, not an independent review. Judge the voice by a real test call.

Follow-up questions
Is Swara a language model or a voice?
+
Swara is the voice engine: it handles listening and speaking on the call. Outpero does not publish details of the other components in its stack. What matters when you evaluate it is what you can measure on a test call, which is reply time, language handling and how it recovers from being misheard.
