How do I integrate an AI voice agent with Zoho CRM?
You integrate an AI voice agent with Zoho CRM through a workflow webhook or through Zapier or Make, not a one-click plug-in. A Zoho workflow sends each new lead to the agent, Outpero calls within 30 seconds, and its post-call webhook brings the summary, outcome and captured fields back to update the same Zoho record.
Two directions to connect
Every CRM integration for AI calling has two halves. Out of the CRM: a new or updated lead triggers a call. Back into the CRM: the call result is written to the lead. Outpero does not offer a native Zoho app, so both halves run through webhooks, either directly or with Zapier or Make in the middle.
Triggering calls from Zoho
- —Zoho workflow rule with a webhook action: create a rule on the Leads module, for example on create with Lead Source equal to Website, and add a webhook that posts the lead's name, mobile and record ID to the agent. Workflow webhooks are available on paid Zoho CRM editions.
- —Zapier or Make: use the new lead or new module entry trigger for Zoho CRM, then post the mapped fields to the agent. Easier for non-admins to edit, at the cost of a small delay and a monthly tool fee.
Always send the Zoho record ID. It is the key that lets the result find its way back to the right lead.
Writing results back
- 01Turn on Outpero's webhook for completed calls, or for every call if you also want no-answer attempts logged.
- 02Catch it in Zapier or Make.
- 03Use the Zoho CRM update record action with the record ID to set Lead Status, a custom field for the AI outcome, and fields for the captured budget or timeline.
- 04Add the summary and the recording link as a Note so the salesperson can read it before calling.
Field mapping that works
| Outpero output | Zoho field |
|---|---|
| Outcome (qualified, not interested, callback) | Lead Status or a picklist |
| Summary | Note on the lead |
| Custom fields such as budget | Matching custom fields |
| Sentiment | Text or picklist field |
| Recording and transcript link | URL field or Note |
Create the custom fields in Zoho first, with picklist values that match the outcomes named in the agent's brief, so the mapping never fails on an unexpected value.
When Zoho should not be the trigger
If leads reach Zoho several minutes after they are created, for example through a scheduled import, trigger the call from the original source instead and only write results into Zoho. Speed to lead is lost in the queue, not on the call.

Follow-up questions
Can the AI read Zoho data during the call, such as an existing customer's plan?
+
Not through a native connector. Outpero's opt-in custom API action can call an endpoint during the conversation, so a developer can expose a small lookup that reads from Zoho's API and returns, say, a renewal date. For most lead calls this is unnecessary: send the few fields the agent needs along with the lead when the call is triggered.
