What is A2P (Application-to-Person) calls?
A2P calls are phone calls originated by an application or software rather than by a person dialling, and delivered to a person, as in reminders, alerts, voice broadcasts and AI voice agent calls.

The term comes from telecom, where traffic is classed as person-to-person (P2P) or application-to-person (A2P). The better-known A2P in India is business SMS, which runs on DLT-registered senders and templates.
