What is DLT registration?
DLT registration is the mandatory Indian regulatory process, run on a blockchain-based Distributed Ledger Technology platform, that businesses must complete before sending commercial SMS or making commercial voice calls.
Introduced by TRAI to curb unsolicited commercial communication, it requires registering the entity, the sender identity and, for SMS, message templates. Unregistered commercial traffic is blocked by operators rather than merely penalised.
