Top AI Call Center Companies in India: Five Types Compared

An AI call center in India is one of five different things: a contact-centre suite with AI added, a conversation-intelligence tool that audits human calls, an enterprise voice-AI platform, an AI-first calling vendor, or a self-serve AI agent. The right company depends on whether you want to keep human agents, replace some of their calls, or simply stop missing calls. This guide sorts the main Indian options by type, gives verified facts for each and shows how to test them.

Outpero publishes this post and sells an AI voice agent. Facts about other vendors come from their own websites, read on 2026-10-14, and are labelled as the vendor's claim where they are claims. The post gives criteria and a test method so you can check any vendor, Outpero included, for yourself. Outpero is not a contact-centre suite and is placed in the self-serve category below.

What "AI call center" means, and why the list is confusing

Search results for this phrase mix very different products. A company that rents seats of a cloud contact centre, a company that listens to every call your human agents make, and a company that sends an AI to call your customers are all described as AI call center companies. They solve different problems and cost different amounts.

Before comparing names, decide what you want to change. If the goal is to run a human call centre better, you need the first two types. If the goal is to reduce the number of calls humans must make or answer, you need the last three. Many businesses end up with one of each: a telephony base, plus an AI layer for the repeatable calls.

Type 1: contact-centre suites with AI

These companies sell the plumbing of a call centre: numbers, call routing, dialers and agent screens. AI voice agents are an addition on top, and humans stay in the loop.

  • —Ozonetel is an enterprise suite with predictive, power and preview dialers, DND scrubbing and AI-assisted quality audits. Its Voice AI page claims 12+ languages, none of them named, and sub-second latency. It does not publish pricing, and the route in is a demo request.
  • —Exotel is a contact-centre and telephony stack with dialers, call routing and a voice blaster. It claims 99.99% uptime and sub-300 ms voice latency on its homepage, and says one human agent can monitor several AI conversations and take over. Its contact-centre plans are listed in dollars, XPrime $70 and XPro $100, and AI voice agent pricing is not published. Its voicebot page names Hindi, English and Hinglish.
  • —Tata Tele Smartflo is a carrier-grade cloud contact centre. It publishes seat and concurrency rentals, for example a Lite plan at ₹5,000 one-time plus ₹950 per licence per month, and describes live-agent handoff. Its AI page states no price.
  • —Knowlarity sells toll-free, virtual and missed-call numbers, IVR and a cloud contact centre. Contact-centre plans start from INR 1,999 per agent per month, and its softphone plans state a one-year minimum contract. Voicebot pricing is on request.
  • —MyOperator provides IVR, routing, call recording and WhatsApp tools, with plans of ₹5,000 and ₹15,000 per month for 10 users each, billed yearly. Its AI tier is custom priced and says it hands over to a human with the full conversation.

These suites win when you run a large human team. They are the wrong place to start if all you want is an agent that answers or makes calls, because you take on seats, contracts and a sales cycle.

Type 2: conversation intelligence

Convin is a Bengaluru platform that audits every human call, coaches agents and assists them live. It lists 70+ languages for transcription, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi, and a dedicated AI collections product. Its AI phone-call agents are a newer product line. Pricing is not published and the route is a demo.

Choose this type when your problem is the quality of calls your people already make. It does not make fewer human calls on its own. It makes the human calls better.

Type 3: enterprise voice and conversational AI

  • —Gnani names nine Indian languages, including Bengali, Gujarati and Punjabi, which Outpero does not support, and claims 40+ languages and dialects overall. It lists SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA and PCI-DSS, and offers cloud, private cloud, on-premise and air-gapped deployment. That suits banks and regulated enterprises far better than a self-serve product. Pricing is not published.
  • —Haptik claims 100+ languages and deploys across WhatsApp, voice, RCS and web. It says it is trusted by 500+ enterprises and lists audited ISO and GDPR compliance. It is owned by Jio Haptik Technologies. Pricing is demo-led.
  • —Yellow.ai lists 150+ pre-built enterprise integrations, 35+ channels and 500+ voice languages (its claims), with a free plan for chat and enterprise pricing on request.
  • —Skit.ai is built for debt collection, with US and Indian offices, a 4 to 6 week typical pilot and performance-based pricing mentioned in a case study. It is a specialist, not a general call-centre replacement.

Want to hear this working, not just read about it?

This is the right type for a bank, NBFC or large brand that needs audited compliance, deep integrations and a vendor with an account team. Expect a pilot of weeks, not an afternoon.

Type 4: AI-first calling vendors

SquadStack says it is typically priced between ₹2 and ₹5 a minute plus a one-time enterprise setup cost, with exact rates after a discovery call. It supports nine Indian languages, including Gujarati and Bengali, ships its own dialer, and assigns a forward-deployed engineer to each account. Setup is described as roughly two weeks, followed by a four to eight week live pilot. It is positioned around outbound sales.

This type suits a sales operation with a large volume and a team that wants the vendor to build and tune the agent. The trade-off is time to go live and a commercial relationship rather than a sign-up.

Type 5: self-serve AI voice agents

Outpero belongs here. There is no sales call and no setup fee. You sign up at app.outpero.com, get 50 free credits, describe the job and go live. Calls cost ₹5 per connected minute at Standard or ₹6.8 at Premium, excluding 18% GST, and the same price applies in each of its seven languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and Indian English.

Outpero runs four modes. Instant lead calling dials a new enquiry within 30 seconds. Bulk campaigns call an uploaded CSV with scheduling, retries and DND screening. Inbound mode answers your business number 24/7 and remembers returning callers. Voice broadcast plays one fixed message to a list and is not an AI conversation. On the call it can book a calendar slot, read or write a spreadsheet, send a WhatsApp message and transfer the call to your team.

Ringg also sells self-serve voice agents, at ₹6 per connected minute with a ₹499 per month phone number, a visual workflow canvas and a claimed 20+ languages. A builder who wants fine control of the flow may prefer it. Outpero's edge is a regional-language specialism and a describe-the-job setup, not a longer feature list.

The self-serve type is not right for everyone. Outpero is not a contact-centre suite: it has no agent desktop and no predictive dialer for human callers. An enterprise that needs audited certifications or on-premise deployment should look at type 3, and a business that needs languages outside its seven should look elsewhere.

How to test any of them in a week

  1. 01Write the one job you want solved and the number of calls a month. Prices only make sense against volume.
  2. 02Ask each vendor for the all-in monthly cost at that volume, including numbers, seats, minutes, setup and GST.
  3. 03Insist on a live test in your customers' language, with English mixed in, from a phone that is not the vendor's.
  4. 04Time the gap between the caller finishing a sentence and the agent replying. Outpero's end-to-end figure is 0.8 to 1.3 seconds on average.
  5. 05Test the handover to a human: does the person who picks up see the conversation so far?
  6. 06Ask what happens to the call data: recording, transcript, fields, webhook and export.
  7. 07Read the contract for minimum terms, advance payment and what happens if you stop.
A rough sense of scale

A human telecaller in India costs roughly ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month, works one shift and handles one call at a time. An extra Outpero channel is ₹649 per month and adds one more simultaneous call, with minutes billed only when connected. The comparison is not like for like, which is why many teams keep humans for judgement calls and move the repeatable calls to AI.

Choosing by situation

Your situationStart with
Large human team, needs telephony and dialersA type 1 suite, then ask about its AI add-on
Human agents already, quality and compliance gapsA type 2 conversation-intelligence tool
Bank, NBFC or insurer with audit and security requirementsA type 3 enterprise vendor with the certifications you need
Large outbound sales volume and a team that wants a managed buildA type 4 vendor, with a paid pilot
Small or mid-size business, one clear job, need to start this weekA type 5 self-serve agent

Whichever type you choose, run the same test calls. A glossy demo on a clean line in English tells you very little about how a product will cope with a Telugu-English sentence from a caller on a poor mobile signal.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI call center?

+

An AI call center uses AI voice agents to make or answer calls that human agents would otherwise handle, usually alongside humans. The term also covers contact-centre software with AI features and tools that audit human calls. Clarify which meaning a vendor intends before comparing prices or features.

Which companies provide AI call center services in India?

+

Contact-centre vendors include Ozonetel, Exotel, Tata Tele Smartflo, Knowlarity and MyOperator. Enterprise voice AI includes Gnani, Haptik, Yellow.ai and Skit.ai. Convin audits human calls, SquadStack offers AI-first calling, and Outpero and Ringg offer self-serve voice agents. Fit depends on size, language and compliance needs.

Is an AI call center cheaper than a human one?

+

For repeatable calls, often yes, but the comparison depends on volume and call type. A human telecaller costs roughly ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month for one shift, while AI calls are billed per connected minute, such as ₹5 at Standard on Outpero. Complex or sensitive calls still need people.

Do I need a contact-centre suite to use an AI voice agent?

+

No. A self-serve AI voice agent like Outpero brings its own dedicated +91 number at ₹649 per month, including one channel, and needs no contact-centre seats. A suite makes sense if you already run or plan a large human team and want telephony, dialers and AI from one vendor.

Can AI call centers handle regional Indian languages?

+

Claims vary. Outpero supports Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam and Indian English, switching to English mid-sentence. Gnani and SquadStack name languages Outpero does not, such as Bengali and Gujarati. Other vendors claim many languages without naming them, so test your exact language on a live call.

How long does it take to deploy an AI call center?

+

It varies by type. SquadStack describes about two weeks of setup plus a four to eight week pilot, and Skit.ai cites typical pilots of 4 to 6 weeks. Self-serve products such as Outpero let you sign up, use free credits and run test calls the same day.
