When should I use voice broadcast instead of an AI calling campaign?
Use voice broadcast when the message is the same for everyone and needs no reply — a holiday closure, a schedule change, an offer announcement, a payment-date alert. Use an AI calling campaign when you need an answer back: qualifying, confirming, booking, rescheduling or collecting a promise to pay. Broadcast is cheaper per call; an AI conversation does more with each call.
The difference in one line
Voice broadcast plays one fixed message to everyone on a list and the call ends when the message finishes. An AI calling campaign holds a two-way conversation with each person, adapts to what they say, and records their answers.
Which to use
| Job | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| School closed for a festival | Broadcast | Same information for everyone, no reply needed |
| New batch or branch announcement | Broadcast | Awareness, not a decision |
| Event reminder for registered attendees | Either | Broadcast to inform; AI if you need confirmations |
| Appointment confirmation | AI campaign | You need yes, no or a new time |
| COD order confirmation | AI campaign | You need a decision and the address checked |
| EMI or payment reminder | AI campaign | You want a promise-to-pay date |
| Lead qualification | AI campaign | Questions and answers are the whole point |
Combine them
A common pattern is broadcast first, conversation second. Announce a weekend site-visit drive or a fee deadline to the whole list by broadcast, then run an AI campaign only for the people who matter most — recent enquiries, high-value accounts, or anyone who has not responded. The broadcast does the cheap reach; the AI campaign does the work that needs a reply.
Keep broadcasts short and wanted
- —Say who is calling in the first sentence.
- —Keep the message to about 20–30 seconds.
- —Send only to people who have a relationship with you — customers, students, patients, registered attendees.
- —Do not use broadcast for cold promotion; it is the fastest way to get a number reported.
Voice broadcast plays an audio file you upload, or text synthesised in Outpero's voices, to everyone on a list, and is billed at a lower rate than AI conversation minutes. Bulk campaigns run full AI conversations with calling windows, retries and DND screening, at ₹5 or ₹6.8 a minute by voice tier.

Follow-up questions
Can the same list be used for a broadcast and an AI campaign?
+
Yes. Upload the same CSV for both, run the broadcast first, and then run an AI campaign on a filtered part of the list — for example, people who enquired in the last month or customers with an upcoming due date. Screen the list against DND before either run, and remove anyone who has asked not to be contacted.
