Can hospitals collect patient feedback with AI calls?
Yes. An AI voice agent can call patients a day or two after discharge or an outpatient visit, ask a few short questions in their language, record ratings and comments, and flag unhappy patients for your quality team. It collects feedback only. It does not give medical advice or answer clinical questions.
Why paper forms and SMS links underperform
Feedback forms at the billing counter get filled by whoever is already satisfied. SMS links are ignored by older patients and families who speak a regional language. A short phone call in the patient's own language reaches the people whose experience you most need to hear.
A typical feedback call
- 01The agent greets the patient or the family member whose number is on record, names the hospital and the department visited, and asks if it is a good time.
- 02It asks three or four questions: waiting time, doctor's explanation, staff behaviour and billing clarity.
- 03It captures a score for each, and one open comment in the patient's words.
- 04If the patient is unhappy, it says a senior person will call back, and flags the call.
- 05The summary, scores and recording go to your dashboard or webhook.
What to keep out of the call
- —Medical questions. If a patient asks about symptoms or medicine, the agent should say a doctor from the hospital will call back.
- —Billing disputes. Log them and pass them to accounts.
- —Sensitive outcomes. Do not call families after a death or serious complication unless your team decides to.
Using the output
| Data | Use |
|---|---|
| Department scores | Spot weak wards or clinics each week |
| Open comments in transcripts | Quality team reads the worst five calls daily |
| Unhappy flags | Patient relations team calls back within 24 hours |
| Positive responses | Optionally invite a Google review through a WhatsApp message |
Consent and privacy
Patient data is sensitive. Call only the numbers given at registration, follow your hospital's consent policy and the DPDP Act, and keep recordings accessible only to named staff. Do not read diagnoses or test results aloud on a call.
Calls are short, usually a minute or two, so feedback from 1,000 patients costs roughly ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 in talk time at ₹5 per connected minute, before GST. Unanswered calls are not billed.

Follow-up questions
Can the agent ask patients in Telugu, Tamil or Malayalam?
+
Yes. Feedback calls can run in any of the seven live languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam or Indian English, with the agent moving to English if the patient does. Split your patient list by preferred language and run one campaign per language.
