Can an AI voice agent capture specific details like budget or preferred date?
Yes. You define custom fields for the AI employee, such as budget, city, preferred date, course or reason for cancelling, and the agent asks for and records them during the call. Outpero returns each field in structured form with the transcript and summary, in the dashboard and in the webhook payload, ready to update a CRM or sheet.
Why structured fields beat a summary
A summary tells a person what happened. A field tells a system. If budget is captured as a field, your CRM can route leads above ₹80 lakh to the senior sales team automatically, and your report can show how many leads in Whitefield wanted a 3BHK. Neither is possible from free text without someone reading every summary.
Designing fields
- —Name each field clearly, such as budget_range, preferred_visit_date or loan_required.
- —Use fixed options where possible: under 50 lakh, 50 lakh to 1 crore, above 1 crore.
- —Specify the format for dates and times, so the CRM can parse them.
- —Keep it to five or six fields per call. Each extra question adds time and drop-off.
- —Mark which fields are essential, so the agent prioritises them if the call is cut short.
Examples by business
| Business | Fields |
|---|---|
| Real estate | Configuration, budget band, purpose, visit date |
| Coaching institute | Course, class or year, preferred batch, parent or student |
| NBFC | Loan amount, employment type, monthly income band, city |
| D2C brand | Order confirmed, address change, cancellation reason |
| Recruitment | Current CTC, expected CTC, notice period, location preference |
Getting accurate captures
- 01Phrase the question in the brief the way a person would: 'What budget are you looking at, roughly?'
- 02Tell the agent how to handle vague replies, such as asking for a range.
- 03Have it confirm critical values back: 'So that is around 60 lakh, correct?'
- 04Check capture rates in test calls; if a field is often blank, the question needs rewording.
Using the fields
Send them through the webhook to Zapier, Make or your CRM, and route on them: hot leads to an alert, specific cities to specific branches, cancellations to a retention list. The captured details also stay in the leads database for later campaigns, and the same fields work on inbound calls the AI employee picks up.
