Lead Intake API and CRM Integrations for Instant AI Calls
Outpero's lead intake API lets any form, ad, CRM or spreadsheet automation hand a new enquiry to an AI employee with one POST request, after which the agent dials it. Each employee has its own lead URL and secret header. The app also gives setup guides for Pabbly, n8n, Zapier, Make, Meta Lead Ads, Zoho, LeadSquared, Sell.Do, IndiaMART, JustDial, WordPress and Wix, plus CSV upload for older lists.
* Time from the lead reaching Outpero to the first ring, under normal conditions. It depends on how quickly your lead source delivers the lead.

On a call
How lead intake API and integrations works, step by step
- 01A form, ad, CRM or spreadsheet automation sends a POST with a JSON body and the secret header to the AI employee's lead URL.
- 02Outpero checks the secret, confirms the phone is an Indian number, applies the per-minute and daily limits and drops a repeat of the same number inside the duplicate window.
- 03Every key in the body other than the phone becomes a pre-call variable, so the greeting and script can use the lead's name, project, course or budget.
- 04After the call delay, 10 seconds by default, the agent dials from the account's own number, subject to the employee's calling hours and retry settings.
- 05The outcome appears in the dashboard and in any post-call webhook, and the sending system can read a call's status with a GET request using its call ID.

A sample call that uses lead intake API and integrations
A property enquiry reaches the lead URL from a website form with the keys name, project and budget, which become pre-call variables. · Runs in Hindi with English words; shown here in English.
- Outpero AIHello Rahul ji, this is Anaya, an AI assistant from Lakeview Homes. You just filled the form for the Whitefield 2 BHK on our website. Is this a good time for two minutes?
- CallerOh, that was quick. Yes, go ahead.
- Outpero AIThe form shows a budget of around 80 lakh. Is that still right, and are you looking to move in this year?
- CallerBudget can stretch to 90 lakh. Moving in by next March ideally.
- Outpero AIUnderstood, 90 lakh and a March move-in. Would a site visit on Saturday morning work for you?
- CallerSaturday at 11 is fine.
- Outpero AINoted, Saturday at 11 am for the Whitefield project. The sales team will confirm the address with you. Thank you for your time, Rahul ji.
- CallerThanks, bye.
Illustrative. The call is logged with the captured budget of 90 lakh, a March timeline and a Saturday 11 am site-visit preference, and the summary reaches the dashboard and the post-call webhook.

In detail
Lead intake API and integrations explained
What the lead URL accepts
Every AI employee set up for instant leads gets its own lead URL. Your system sends a POST with a JSON body, and the body must carry the phone number. Any other key you add, such as name, city, course or budget, becomes a pre-call variable that the script and greeting can use as {{budget}} or {{name}}.
| Endpoint | Method | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| /lead-intake/{slug} | POST | Submit a lead; the AI employee calls it after the call delay |
| /lead-intake/{slug}/schema | GET | See which fields the employee expects |
| /lead-intake/{slug}/calls/{call_id} | GET | Check the status of a call by its call ID |
The secret travels in the X-Outpero-Lead-Secret header. It is shown on the guide screen and can be revealed or rotated later from the same place.
Setup guides, not native connectors
Outpero does not publish an app inside Zapier, Make or Pabbly. What the product gives you instead is a guide for each tool that tells you which trigger to pick, where to paste the URL and which headers to add. The guides cover Pabbly, n8n, Zapier, Make, Meta Lead Ads, Zoho, LeadSquared, Sell.Do, IndiaMART, JustDial, WordPress and Wix.
- —IndiaMART: bridge through Pabbly Connect using your Lead Manager API key, then POST to the lead URL.
- —JustDial: there is no self-serve webhook, so the guide routes leads through a Google Sheet.
- —WordPress and Wix: if the form cannot add a custom header, connect through Zapier.
Limits and duplicate protection
By default an account can send 120 requests a minute, and each endpoint accepts 1,000 leads a day. If the same number arrives again inside the duplicate lead window, which defaults to 5 minutes and can be set per employee between 1 and 1,440 minutes, the repeat is skipped rather than dialled twice.
Bulk upload for lists that are not live
For older enquiries, upload a CSV or paste rows into a campaign. Columns are phone, name and any custom fields, and unknown headers can be mapped or created as variables. A request can hold up to 5,000 contacts, a campaign up to 50,000, and lists can be saved for reuse.
Instant leads are dialled from the account's own purchased number, which is Rs 649 a month plus 18% GST, and only Indian numbers can be called.
Put it to work
What teams use lead intake API and integrations for
| Use | How it helps |
|---|---|
| Meta lead ads | Route each new Facebook or Instagram lead form submission through Pabbly, Zapier, Make or n8n so the AI employee phones the person while the ad is still fresh in mind. |
| Website and landing page forms | Add a webhook or automation step to a WordPress, Wix or custom form so every enquiry reaches the lead URL without anyone copying numbers into a sheet. |
| CRM new-lead trigger | Fire a Zoho, LeadSquared or Sell.Do workflow rule on lead creation so the agent calls and the captured details can flow back through a post-call webhook. |
| Portal leads | Bring IndiaMART leads in through a Pabbly bridge, or export JustDial leads to a Google Sheet and let a sheet-row trigger send each one to the lead URL. |
| Older lists | Upload a CSV or paste rows to run a saved list as a campaign when the contacts are not arriving live. |
Straight answers
What lead intake API and integrations does not do
- !The guides are step-by-step setup instructions that post to the lead URL; Outpero does not ship native Zapier, Make, Pabbly or CRM apps or connectors.
- !The secret header is mandatory, so form plugins and platforms that cannot send custom headers must go through an automation tool such as Zapier.
- !Only Indian mobile numbers are dialled, and instant leads need the account's own purchased phone number plus credits.
- !Defaults of 120 requests a minute per account, 1,000 leads a day per endpoint and a 5-minute duplicate window apply, so very bursty sources need planning.
- !Bulk upload accepts CSV files or pasted text only, not Excel files, with 5,000 contacts per request and 50,000 per campaign.
Lead intake API and integrations: questions people ask
Is there an Outpero app inside Zapier, Make or Pabbly?
+
No. Outpero does not have a native app or connector in those tools. The product provides step-by-step guides that show how to add a POST step in Zapier, Make, Pabbly or n8n that sends each lead to your AI employee's lead URL with the secret header. It works with any tool that can send an HTTP request.
How do I send Meta lead ads to an AI voice agent?
+
Open the Instant leads tab, choose Connect leads and follow the Meta Lead Ads guide. In practice you create an automation in Pabbly, Zapier, Make or n8n with the Facebook Lead Ads trigger, pick your Page and form, add a POST step to the lead URL with the secret header, and map the form answers to the listed keys.
How many leads can the lead intake API handle?
+
By default an account can send 120 requests a minute and each endpoint accepts 1,000 leads a day. These are default limits, so a campaign that dumps thousands of leads at once is better run as a bulk upload, which takes up to 5,000 contacts per request and 50,000 per campaign.
What happens if the same lead is sent twice?
+
The second request is skipped if it arrives inside the duplicate lead window for that employee. The default is 5 minutes, and the window can be changed in the calling policy. The Webhook activity panel shows each request as accepted, deduplicated or rejected, so you can see exactly why a lead was not dialled.
Can I upload an Excel file of contacts?
+
Not directly. Bulk upload takes a CSV file or text pasted into the campaign, so save the Excel sheet as CSV first. Include a phone column, usually a name column, and any custom columns you want the script to use. Contacts can be kept as saved lists for later campaigns.
Do I need my own phone number for instant leads?
+
Yes. Instant-lead calls go out from a phone number bought for your account, which costs Rs 649 a month excluding 18% GST. Only Indian numbers can be dialled, so a lead with an overseas number is not called. Talk time is billed from prepaid credits at Rs 5 a minute on Standard or Rs 6.8 on Premium.
