Outpero

Can I get an AI voice agent that speaks Hindi and English on the same call?

Short answer

Yes. Outpero's Hindi agent follows the caller into English, even mid-sentence, and back, in the same voice. The setup choices matter more than the feature: pick Hindi as the base language, write the script the way a good telecaller speaks, with English product words kept in English, and test with Hindi, English and mixed calls.

Choose the base language first

A call has one starting language, set on the agent. If most callers open in Hindi, make it a Hindi agent. If your callers are English-first professionals, such as IT staff in Gurugram or Noida, an Indian English agent may fit better. Outpero documents the switch into English from each of its regional languages. Test an English-base agent with Hindi replies in your pilot before relying on it.

Write the opening line for both

नमस्ते, Gupta Realty की तरफ़ से कॉल है। यह एक AI असिस्टेंट है। आपने कल Sector 62 के flat के बारे में enquiry की थी, क्या अभी दो मिनट बात हो सकती है?

In English: 'Namaste, this is a call from Gupta Realty. This is an AI assistant. You enquired yesterday about a flat in Sector 62. Do you have two minutes now?' The line is short, in Hindi, with English where Indian callers use it, so either reply feels natural.

Keep these words in English

  • —Product and process words: EMI, booking, site visit, appointment, registration.
  • —Short confirmations such as 'ok', 'sure' and 'sorry'.
  • —Brand and project names, spelled as they appear on your ads.

What to expect on the call

  • —A caller who answers in English gets English back, with no restart.
  • —A caller who returns to Hindi is followed back.
  • —A caller who moves into Tamil, Bengali or another language needs a different agent, or a person.

A three-call test before launch

  1. 01Call the agent entirely in Hindi.
  2. 02Call it entirely in English.
  3. 03Call it mixing both, and say a name, a phone number and an amount in each language.
  4. 04Read the transcripts for misheard numbers and names, then adjust the script.

Switching does not change the price. Standard is ₹5 and Premium ₹6.8 per connected minute, excluding 18% GST.

Follow-up questions

Will the voice change when the agent switches to English?

+

No. The agent keeps the same voice when it moves between Hindi and English, so the caller does not hear a new speaker or a pause. This is part of how Outpero handles Hinglish, where English words sit inside Hindi sentences.

Does a bilingual call cost more per minute?

+

No. The per-minute price is the same in every language and for mixed calls: ₹5 for Standard voices and ₹6.8 for Premium, excluding 18% GST. You pay for connected talk time only, from prepaid credits that never expire.

Enterprise and custom: volume plans go as low as ₹3.5/min, quoted on your needs.
